The chain of events begins when the aristocrat Emily Hartwood receives a letter from his uncle, who is in a psychiatric hospital. In it, a man asks his niece to stay away from this damned place, all the inhabitants of which are involved in a “stupid cult”. As it should be, the warning works exactly the opposite, Emily, accompanied by a private detective Edward Carnbie, goes to save a relative from such a terrible device. The player decides for whom the campaign will be held.

At one time, it was this series that laid the foundation for the Survival Horror genre with the introduction of key mechanics. The first part, published in 1992, became a revolutionary for its time thanks to a cheerful game process and an interesting plot.
