Ghostrunner 2 is an action game created by one more level and published by 505 Games. Sequel to Ghostrunner (2020). The game can be played in first person. The game character Jack is very mobile and is able to overcome dangerous places by attacking, jumping, running along walls and sliding. He can also use a grappling hook to move around and uses a “sensory enhancement” that slows down time for a while and allows Jack to move through the air. The game also features a stamina calculator that determines how often players can make and deflect attacks. While the sword is the player’s primary weapon, Jack also has access to some special skills that can be used in both combat scenarios and puzzle solving. For example, the Shuriken ability, which allows Jack to throw multiple electric stars, can be used to stun enemies and hit remote switches. Both Jack and his enemy have very limited health, and both can be killed in one hit.

In the game, Jack must infiltrate the Dharma Tower to defeat a group of artificially intelligent cyber ninja cultists. Ghostrunner 2 features vehicle-based combat. At certain levels, Jack can ride a motorcycle, fight enemies and avoid obstacles. The levels in the game are non-linear, allowing players to plan their own routes before encountering enemies. Following the events of the previous game, Dharma Tower fell into chaos. Without an architect or keyboard player and their armies, various factions fight for control of the tower, amassing resources and fighting each other. Ghost Runner Jack, who has mysteriously returned to life after defeating the architect and destroying the cybervacuum, teams up with the Mountaineers, the rebel group that brought him back, to form a board of trustees.

One of the groups, the Hammers, became more dangerous and organized with the arrival of the new leader Ahriman. Jack is sent to stop them from taking over the reactor at the top of the tower, but he fails to outrun Ahriman. It turns out that Ahriman is the spirit runner, and along with two other spirits Rahu and Madhu, collectively called Asura, he uses the reactor to revive the disabled Asura leader Mitra. As Asura escapes, Jack fights Ahriman and defeats him with the help of a human soldier named Adrian Bakunin, who is later arrested by the climbers.

At the Interaction Council headquarters, Bakunin, who was a member of Mara’s army before defecting, explains that the Asuras were the first ghost runners, creating Adam and Mara as protectors. They got out of control and were never seen again. Not knowing how to find Asura, City Hall boss Connor Mueller sends Jack to investigate a cult that worships the architect. Fearing the architect’s return, Jack infiltrates the iconic cathedral and decides to help Bakunin’s ally, the hacker Kira. Deep inside the cathedral, Jack discovers that the cult is controlled by Rahu Asura, who can freely control the cyber layer, which may be why Jack survived the architect’s dismissal. With Kira’s help, Jack manages to disarm Rahu, escape cyberspace, and regain the physical body of Rahu, the headless ghost runner.

At the headquarters, the climbers try to deal with Rahu, but before they can, Mithra breaks in, kills Mueller, and kidnaps Rahu before escaping. Jack pursues Mythra, chasing him around the city and eventually leaving the Dharma Tower. Jack finds himself in an apocalyptic overworld, wandering through charred ruins and finding an outer shell inhabited by savage biomechanical humanoids. While searching for Mithra, Jack communicates with Madhu of Asura, who created these biomechanical beings, which he calls “heirs”. Jack eventually approaches ASURA, but Rahu is again trapped on the cyber level.
